mIRC v2.1a

Release Date: February 28, 1995.
mIRC is a popular Internet Relay Chat client used by millions of people, and thousands of organizations, to communicate, share, play and work with each other on IRC networks around the world.

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a virtual meeting place where people from all over the world can meet and talk; you'll find the whole diversity of human interests, ideas, and issues here, and you'll be able to participate in group discussions on one of the many thousands of IRC channels, on hundreds of IRC networks, or just talk in private to family or friends, wherever they are in the world.

mIRC has a number of distinguishing features. One is its scripting language which is further developed with each version.

The scripting language can be used to make minor changes to the program like custom commands (aliases),[3] but can also be used to completely alter the behavior and appearance of mIRC. Another claimed feature is mIRC's file sharing abilities, via the DCC protocol, featuring a built in file server.

Features:
  • Full featured Internet Relay Chat client
  • Clean, practical interface
  • Highly configurable and supports features such as buddy lists
  • Powerful scripting language that can be used both to automate mIRC and to create applications that perform a wide range of functions from network communications to playing games.
