Release Date: June 22, 2002.
DriverManager is a lightweight piece of software developed to give you full control over the installed drivers. This is clearly an application aimed at more experienced users, despite the well organized layout that was developed to provide a great amount of information.
For example, DriverManager displays the number of installed drivers, but also stats concerning the items that come with a boot, system, automatic, manual or disabled startup configuration.
The installed drivers list on the other hand shows the name of each entry, along with display name, description, startup type, status and event logging status.
A simple double-click on any of the displayed items on the other hand opens a new screen through which DriverManager shows essential details and provides adjustable settings.
While you can see the name of the driver, company, file version, path, original file name, status and language, you're also allowed to change display name, description, type, tag, error control, group and startup type.
A driver can be easily removed from the main window, but make sure you create a backup before anything else. Sadly, the app doesn't feature such a tool, so just search online for another third-party software created in this regard.
So this is just a handy application that can be safely used by those with a bit more computer experience. Rookies on the other hand should stay away unless they make sure that the items they plan to remove do not affect the overall stability of the system.
