Release Date: October 24, 2005.
With the amount of compression tools available on the market nowadays, the choice mostly relies on the one you consider suits you best. Amongst them, PowerArchiver wants to stand out in the crowd by providing a rich set of tools with which to do exactly what the name suggests.
The interface mostly contains elements you find in any common compression tool. Before you run it the first time, you can choose whether or not to enable advanced options, but this option can be toggled later on from the options menu.
Taking it for a spin might leave you impressed, as it manages to quickly compress and extract files of various sizes and formats. In our tests, we managed to pull files from a 2.5 GB archive somewhere around a minute, with a moderate amount of system resources used.
In addition, the application comes equipped with a file burner for even more sharing possibilities. It lets you easily store your files on a CD / DVD, or even have image files created and managed with virtual drive support.
It features so many useful tools, being a lot more than a simple compression utility, perfectly blending in any office environment, as well as your home computer. It's easy enough to use due to the intuitive and customizable interface, with support for advanced options in case you're a pro user.
