Release Date: June 25, 2005.
MP3 Repair Tool is a very straightforward software solution aimed at rookies who want to repair damaged MP3 files with minimum effort. The application is especially developed for beginners not only because it sports a very basic GUI, but also because the number of features is actually very small.
In fact, the application does nothing more than to remove a user-defined number of frames either from the beginning or from the end of a corrupted MP3 file, thus trying to restore playback capabilities.
That’s why the GUI remains very simple, but at the same time it is very intuitive, grouping all available options in a single window.
Users are thus required to select the MP3 files they wish to fix and decide whether to remove frames from the beginning of each file or remove everything after the last frame of each file.
There’s no help manual, but instead MP3 Repair Tool displays all the necessary information right in the main window, with a great amount of details on each of the two aforementioned options.
The repairing process is a breeze and takes just a few seconds, but this also depends on the number of selected files. It can process multiple MP3 files at the same time, as long as they are placed in the same folder.
All things considered, MP3 Repair Tool is a handy piece of software, but there’s nothing breathtaking about it. The application was developed to remove frames from the beginning or from the end of a song, so a heavily damaged MP3 file is almost impossible to rescue.
