PWReveal v1.0

Release Date: November 5, 2003.
Recovering lost passwords can be a real pain, especially when they are forgotten and haven't been saved anywhere. However, problems may occur even if you use a dedicated program for managing logins and passkeys and you can't remember a password. PWReveal will let you see what's under those dotted passwords.

This particular application specializes in unveiling what's hidden under the asterisks that are usually displayed when typing a password in a login box or field. The software may be less good looking than modern programs, but in this case the practical aspect is definitely worth a lot more.

If you want to recover web logins, please note that this tool has to be used only in conjunction with Internet Explorer from version 5 up.

If the program is used for revealing passwords from installed apps, the result will be shown in a dedicated field, while when working on webpages, the result is displays in the main window in the same area where you can view the scanning log.

Using PWReveal is not difficult at all and even less experienced users should be able to get along very well with it. All you have to do is drag the little lock from the man window of the application onto the filed where the passkey is written and after a few instants you should get the result.

In case you find yourself in the unpleasant situation where you completely forgot an important passkey but which is still usable from your password manager utility or saved in Internet Explorer, PWReveal is worth a try because it might save you a lot of trouble.
