Release Date: August 19, 2005.
Written fully in Assembly Langauge, CPUSpy tests your processor and using an internal database of most common CPUs, displays CPUID data such as cache details, processor features and processor name. CPUSpy can also measure your current CPU speed in MHz, Windows Up-Time, IP address, Window Version and memory status.
Not only does this utility provide comprehensive data about your CPU, it also tracks down your processor's key statistics, although the depth of information provided may leave novices befuddled. CPUSpy quickly collects data from your CPU and displays your processor's name, speed, features, and cache summary in a small, tabbed interface.
Moreover, it displays system information, such as OS version, uptime, memory, IP, and hard drive details. The program can perform cache memory tests, and you can set a time for continuous frequency checks.
Feature flags and cache data are fully broken down for easy readability. However, the specs are way over the heads of many novice users.
We were amazed to find out this utility has a built-in database of CPUs, where you can manually look for a particular processor, although it contains mostly AMD and Intel CPUs. There is also a database that contains OS details for a different Windows version.
